About Dynamic HydroPump Technology

- Controllable release platform for aqueous based fluids, chemicals and medicaments
- Absolutely non-stick
- "Breathes" moisture
DHP is a unique cross-linked polymer composition invented by a dentist with polymer scientist to treat a debilitating yet common affliction known as xerostomia (dry mouth). Like most breakthrough inventions, the benefits of DHP extend far beyond this intended area of use into a significant range of new and improved products.
DHP’s singular performance advantage is its ability to first store then release water or aqueous based materials at controllable rates. In open atmosphere applications, release can be varied from as short as desired to periods ranging to a week or longer. In closed container applications, DHP can be used to maintain desired moisture or active levels almost indefinitely. DHP is free of residual monomer and is odorless and tasteless after final processing.
Key attributes:
- Stores then releases water/aqueous based material at controllable rates
- Absolutely non-stick
- No residual monomer
- Tasteless and odorless
Key supporting features:
- Will not stick to dermal tissue, wound sites and other tested surfaces
- Soft, smooth, non-adhering when wet
- Hard, smooth, non-adhering when dry
- Withstands extreme temperatures with little or no deformation
- Flexibly conforms to any shape or size
- If desired, can be reloaded with moisture or actives to extend effective delivery life
- Can be tailored to absorb as well as to release: useful when combined with other properties to maintain a desired moisture or active level
- Low material cost
Properties that can be varied:
- Flexibility/stiffness
- Strength
- Water/aqueous based material content
- Release Rate
- Absorption rate
- Appearance (shape/color)
Differentiating Qualities-Wound Care Application:
- Absolutely will not stick to wound site
- Superior to Telfa for non-stick
- Remains moist for multiple days
- Predictably releases medicaments
- Allows wound to breathe
Manufacturing Information:
- Simple and complex shapes can be produced
- Glass, plastic or rubber molds can be used
- No mold release agents needed
DHP has the potential to be an extensively used commercial polymer with a wide range of applications. DHP has high odds of success in any application requiring:
- loading or storage then controlled release of moisture or actives
- maintaining desired moisture or active levels.

Wound Care
- Post-operative, pressure wound, and burn wound dressings will be greatly improved by Soluble Systems DHP Technology. Made or cut to any dimension/size, with desired surface textures and perforations, a TheraGauze bandage with DHP Technology allows the wound to breathe while releasing medicaments and collecting exudant. TheraGauze will absolutely not stick to wound site and molds comfortably to any surface. DHP Technology has the potential to be a superior release platform for aqueous medicants.
Biologic
- DHP can be effectively used for treating rectal, vaginal, otic (ear) and nasal infection, inflammation and discomfort. The extended and measured release of medicaments or liquid is achieved with this moist and soothing totally flexible and conforming material that does not adhere to body surfaces. The desired liquid may be injected into or dropped on to "recharge" the DHP product without need for removal or it may be removed and discarded.
- A small DHP pad placed in the loose tissue under the eye offers extended relief from dryness with a saline solution or faster healing with a medicament delivery.
- An DHP mouthpiece loaded with moisture relieves the misery associated with the absence of normal salivary flow. This is the first and only product that patients suffering from xerostomia (dry mouth) have found to work and want to use. An DHP mouthpiece can also release fluoride, vitamins, minerals, herbs, and other medications to sustain a healthy oral environment to improve overall health and quality of life.
- Common sufferers of xerostomia include: the elderly, patients suffering from Sjogren’s disease, radiation treatment or the side effects of medicines such as psychiatric drugs, antihistamines, high blood pressure, smoking cessation drugs, acne medicines, and those with rheumatoid arthritis.
- DHP offers a particularly effective extended release platform for dermal medicinal delivery.
- DHP is a method of delivering oral liquid (water, vitamins) over an extended period of time for use by athletes such as marathoners, cyclists and racecar drivers; the incapacitated such as quadriplegics or passengers on long airplane trips.
- DHP offers complementary veterinary applications for any treatment in which a moist and medicated field will improve healing and control infection of mucosal and dermal tissues.
Industrial/Agricultural
- Extended Release Delivery Systems Applications:
The DHP technology provides an ideal medium to filter and slowly release fluids and chemicals such as fertilizers, fungicides, and insect control/repellents. It resists bacterial growth and will withstand extreme temperatures with little to no deformation. It can be made to flexibly conform to any shape or size. Where a slow, metered fluid release is desired, this is an ideal, low cost alternative to existing products and technologies.
In the horticulture area, the DHP technology provides an ideal rechargeable medium for the germination of seeds and is an effective medium to facilitate grafting.
-
Commercial Packing and Shipping Applications:
Moist or dry, the DHP technology can be reversibly prepared for packaging, shipping and storage. In a closed container, the DHP technology can release moisture or chemicals for extended periods. Chemicals can be released from the DHP platform to maintain and protect inventory requiring specific environmental conditions including but not limited to antibacterial inhibitors, disinfectants, preservatives and rust inhibitors. The composition, when hydrated is very soft and flexible and would be ideal for shipping high value meats, fish, fruits and vegetables. Dry, the DHP technology can be an effective desiccant.
-
Inventory Management and Storage Applications:
The DHP technology allows inventory susceptible to dehydration to be predictably stored in a moist, clean environment. Impregnated chemicals of choice will protect, preserve and disinfect the storage environment. A sealed storage container or area will remain moist or with a desired active level for an extended period. In this environment DHP can be recharged with moisture or actives multiple times, extending the effective life. The DHP technology will also act as an effective desiccant if a dry environment is desired. This is an economical and reversible method of maintaining a moist or dry environment for sensitive inventory such as highly sensitive equipment or for fine art or wooden furniture susceptible to environmental changes.
-
Field Chemical Sampling Applications:
The DHP technology allows for the absorption of chemicals or any liquid based subject of study in the field that can later be released in a laboratory setting for analysis.
