W&M Applied Research Center

The College of William and Mary ARC Material Characterization Laboratories occupy eight laboratories in the ARC building. The WM labs are unique, not only in the diverse lab equipment, which consists of plasma sources, materials analysis equipment, cleaning/polishing equipment and ovens, but also in highly skilled lab technicians who have been with the lab since conception. Equipment teaching labs are routinely conducted on the FTIR, SEM, AFM, and Optical Microscopes. The Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC) was founded in 1995 to accomplish and promote excellence in education, clinical practice, public policy and research. The AAWC is open to everyone involved in wound care, including clinicians, patients and their lay caregivers, facilities, industry, students, retirees and others interested in the care of wounds, and gives its members the opportunity to build a collaborative community to facilitate optimal care for those who suffer with wounds. The American Burn Association and its members dedicate their efforts and resources to promoting and supporting burn-related research, education, care, rehabilitation, and prevention. The ABA has more than 3,500 members in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and Latin America . Members include physicians, nurses, occupational and physical therapists, researchers, social workers, firefighters, and hospitals with burn centers.
